On Thursday, 16th April, the U14 football team made their way to Portlaoise for the second round of the league against Scoil Chroist Ri. It was an exciting contest with plenty of scores on display. Isabelle Gibbs and Christine Lynch opened the scoring with a point each, while Ella Weldon impressed with three points, including a brilliant score early in the second half. Ella Smyth also added a very well-taken point.
A standout moment came when Saoirse Roche set up Maisie Sheils for a superbly finished goal. Leila Moffat showed great determination, having a shot blocked before regaining possession and firing home a cracking goal, while Saoirse Roche also later found the net.
Despite strong performances from Loreto, Portlaoise were the better side on the day and ultimately secured the win.
